Wawel Castle in Krakow……     Warsaw – in 1945, after the bombings, revolts, fighting, and demolition had ended, most of Warsaw lay in ruins. Many of the historic streets, buildings, and churches were restored to their original form. Auschwitz & Auschwitz-Birkenau – a concentration camp & gas chambers.
