Stay at Mama’s House Homestay when in Hoi An

We booked Mama’s House Homestay on the recommendation of a friend who had stayed last November. Researching on Booking.com the homestay had great reviews and, at $16 a night for a double plus $2 per person for a cooked-to-order breakfast how could we go wrong? After booking online we quickly received an email from Thu welcoming us. Wow, that doesn’t happen often and made us feel we made the right choice from the start. She arranged airport transfer from Da Nang ($12) and a driver was waiting, just as planned. We were met at the homestay by Thu and shown to our beautiful room with a balcony.

The home has 5 guest rooms and family quarters. Each room has a private bath. We immediately felt at home and our stay couldn’t have been more comfortable. Thu was incredibly helpful in all things and introduced us to her culture. We have developed a friendship.

We could easily have stayed here for an extended period of time. Thank you, Thu, for making our stay memorable and one we will never forget. We will be coming back!

Rooms……

Beautiful rooms, triple, double or twin. Table, chairs and a minibar. No need to buy drinks from the market as the minibar prices are cheaper. Mini bar is restocked every day. The rooms are cleaned and returned to check-in appearance every day.

Courtyard……

Having delicious banana pancakes, fruit, and Vietnamese coffee every morning in the courtyard is a great way to start the day.

Outings with Thu……

Thu took us on several outings by motorbike, to visit where she grew up in the countryside, riding around farm fields, and tasting many local foods that we would have never tried on our own.

Cooking class……

Thu organized a cooking class for the guests with a local chef friend, and we all enjoyed the delicious meal. Note the homestay kitchen has no stove, oven, or dishwater. Thu makes great meals on a two burner hot plate.
